Jestoni Dulva Maniago, RN, DSN, PhD

What is your job title? Assistant Professor

For how long have you worked as a nurse? I have been practicing this noble profession for almost 13 years.

What is your favourite thing about being a nurse?

Nursing is a sacred work and what I love the most about being a nurse is that it involves a spiritual practice. As nurses, we deal with the life force on another person and as well of ourselves. When we express our nursing care, it heals the physical body, restores the psychological functioning and impacts the very human soul.

What are you passionate about?

I have been in the nursing academe for almost 13 years, and I can say that preparing future nurses becomes my enthusiasm in life. Nursing academe is a multifaceted field. It is not just all about teaching, or assessing student’s learning. It’s my individual expression of caring to mold my students holistically to become contributing agents of quality health.

What are your aspirations for the future?

Career-wise, I would like to take a post-doctoral course, and explore the possibilities of book writing and conducting collaborative researches on caring science, nursing education and pediatric palliative care.
